For my. challenge I chose to do Swedish, Canadian, and African art. I chose these three cultures because I wanted to learn more about them. For this challenge we had to find three different cultures of art, and explain how they are different then our art ( American). I think that our art is more about things that are happening around the world, social media, and religion. Their art seems to be more about pure things, religion, and nature. They seem really unique and cool. I found that African art is pure, colorful and has a lot to do with the way they feel and their customs. Canadian art deals with scenery and nature. Swedish art also has to do with customs. Dala Horse, and the Folk Flower play a big part in Swedish art. Below are the collages that I created of the art I found.
I made a Emaze. Emaze is a website that makes presentations online. I used the art gallery theme, and I thought that it was really cool because it makes is seem like you are walking through an art gallery. My Emaze project is about reusing objects, and making art out of them.

This is what we started out with. The blue caps in the pictures are bubbles. We also added some seaweed made of paper. We stapled the seaweed to the poster board. To make the fish more appealing we added different colors of torn paper to make it look like the fish had scales. We filled the whole fish with the torn paper so it looks like a rainbow fish. Below is my finished project. For my first art challenge I did a 2-D drawing. My drawing is 4 Chinese symbols that stand for the word ''dirt''. All four of them are different colors. The colors i chose are green, pruple, blue, and yellow. I chose those colors because I thought that they would look good together. I chose the word dirt because it is the name of one of m favorite songs. Plus it is important to me, because I can relate a lot to the song. Printmaking is one of the many things that you can do in art. You can be creative with it. In order to print make you need to have a linoleum block. First you pick a design and carve it out with the various carvers. You want a skinnier carver tip for smaller designs and a bigger one for wider lines. Carve out certain lines/shapes if you want your print to be two different colors. When you are carving be sure to use a stop block. A stop block holds one edge of your linoleum block while you are carving so the lino block doesn't slip and so you don't cut yourself. After you are done carving pick one or two colors to print with. When printing you will use a few tools. You have a brayer, which is used to spread the paint on the platter. The platter is what you put your paint on. When you put your ink on the platter, roll the brayer across the platter until it seems like the brayer is sticky and is making a ''stick'' sound. Roll the ink onto your print. Place the print onto the paper and press down evenly. Lift the lino block off of the paper and re-ink it. Continue until the paper is full. My logo is a WSR Go-Hawk. My initials are in the wings, and the middle of the hawk. The letter ''J'' is in the left wing, ''L'' is in the middle, and on the other wing is the letter ''O''. I kept the same colors as the school's.
